
The French Foreign Ministry and the US State Department expressed their support for the actions of the ECOWAS, stating that a national order order is absolutely necessary in Niger. Nigeria, Benin and a few other West African countries will join the operation, too. Just recently, the French publication Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported that member of the Economic Community of West Africa (abbreviated as ECOWAS/ECOWAS) supported the idea of military intervention in Niger in order to restore constitutional order. The situation around Niger, where a military coup took place two weeks ago, and the legitimate president, Mohamed Bazum was overthrown, has been flooded. France and the United States support pro-Western forces in Africa already.
